There are many “jolly” things happening around these parts!
My best friend just got a huge opportunity, which gives me hope of finding/being accepted somewhere.
There are only 9 days until Christmas.
My cheerleading team that I coach is having our Christmas party tonight.
I am going to the mountains this weekend.
Physical therapy is going really well, and I already have more flexibility in my shoulder than when I started.
And I love surveys:
1. Eggnog or hot chocolate? Hot chocolate, I actually have never had eggnog.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? All of our families presents are wrapped. However, in 9th grade when I got a snowboard it was not wrapped. Kinda hard to do that one.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White lights on all the upstairs trees, and colored on my “kid” tree in the basement. I am really picky about outside lights and stuff because I think a lot of it looks tacky.
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Negative ghost rider.
5. When do you hang your decorations up? The day/weekend after thanksgiving. My mom and all of her elves, which now is just me since my sisters are married, get to work!
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Why are we excluding dessert? My favorite holiday dish is Amy Sink’s homemade cinnamon rolls that we save for Christmas morning. NOM!
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Probably the few times that is has snowed on christmas, plus the christmas that we got Kipper.
8. What is on your Christmas wish list? You can see my wish list here
9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? Ever since I can remember my sisters and I have had one “open early” present that we open on Christmas eve. This present is always matching pajamas. Brother in laws and offspring have been grandfathered in to this tradition.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? Well. In the dining room we have a smaller “bird tree” that my mom and I decorate usually. The den boast the biggest tree, almost reaching to the top of our two story den, and everyone participates in it’s beautification. In the past, the basement tree is the “kid tree” and Emily, Casey and myself decorated it with our own ornaments. Since they are both married, it is now my tree. This year I convinced my mom to let me have a tree in my bedroom, so it has ornaments that I collected through college and used in my apartments.
11. Snow? Love it or dread it? Obsessed with snow.
12. Real tree or fake tree? Fake. I love real trees. But we have a fake tree in the den and dining room, but real in basement and my bedroom. We started having fake trees when our real tree had aphids and we had to replace our carpet in the den.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? A few of my favorite gifts that I got when I was little include getting Kipper, my Leigh Middleton Doll, and Molly the American Girl Doll.
14. What is the most important thing about Christmas for you? Spending time with people that I love, creating new traditions and following old ones.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Fudge.
16. What is your favorite tradition? I love all of our family traditions!
17. What tops your tree? Huge bows.
18. Do you prefer giving or receiving? I love giving gifts when you know you have found something that somebody really wants, but I don’t mind a surprise or two myself!
19. What is your favorite Christmas song? Glee’s version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.
20. Candy canes, yuck or yum? No preference really. I ate them back when I used to have to study for exams.
21. Favorite Christmas movie? This is hard. Miracle on 42nd street, Polar Express, The Santa Claus.
22. What do you leave for Santa? Cookies & Milk.
23. Do you have a Christmas morning tradition? Although it has evolved slightly over the years our Christmas goes as follows. Wake up, eat a big breakfast, take our coffee into the den and open our stockings. Then we all shower and get ready and have our big family late lunch with all the aunts, uncles, cousins ect. Finally after the day is coming to an end, we do our family Christmas. I like this way of doing Christmas day because it makes everything last longer
24. Do you prefer to shop on-line or at the mall? I hate shopping, so online.
25. Christmas letter or Christmas card? Neither. There used to be a Christmas card when my sisters and myself were little and last year Laura & I sent out a Christmas card!
Falalala la lalala laahhh
